Celebrating 1 Year Of Blogging

Wow, it has gone by so fast and is hard to imagine that I have been blogging for one year, today. I started reading Belinda's blog and thought "I can do that" and here I am, with much help from Belinda and others, who have been doing this longer and have great blogs. I never thought that I would keep it up, but enjoy it so much. This blog particularly has been great for my training and keeping records of what I do with my dogs. I also have met some very nice people in the blog world. I know it has been quiet while I am in Peru, but will get busy again the end of this month.

The girls have been doing fine at my mom's house. Apparently, Chauncey is being a bad girl and sleeping on their bed when they leave. She gives herself away by standing on their bed to look out the window when they get home and leaving pieces of my nieces toys that she chews up when left.

As I discussed in a
previous post about Jasmine was probably going to be bred early next year. Things have changed and Jasmine will be spayed once I get home. She has passed all of her health testing except for her Sebaceous Adenitis (SA) tests, they keep coming back as "equivocal" or showing some inflammation, but not enough to give a definite diagnosis. Her brother, Briggs, has also been having health testing and his SA test came back positive. So, based on all of this I decided to spay her and not tempt fate by producing SA in her puppies.

I have taken a turn in my breeding program, it will end for now and maybe in a couple years I will start looking for a puppy to start over with. Right now, we will continue our training, working for titles, and enjoying ourselves. As long as the girls remain healthy we will be doing good.

Thank you, Helen. I will check out your blog. Standard Poodles are great.

*hug* I'm sorry to hear about Jasmine and her brother, Kim. That's so sad, I know how much she means to you. I'm glad she's still healthy, and I hope she remains that way forever!

Thank you, Erin. I was disappointed, but pray that she will remain healthy and have a long life.
